The Old Yellow House Foundation is an educational center promoting sustainable practices for the stewardship of the Earth and its people. It is a model revealing connection through history, heritage, health, artistic expression, and regenerative living that creates synergy between humans, ecosystems, and economics.
The Old Yellow House was built in 1890 as housing for the railroad workers, who were to build transportation for the soon-to-be bankrupt California-Nevada line. The Nelson family purchased it in 1918 to escape the Spanish flu pandemic and moved to the country from Albany. James purchased it in 2012 to showcase his talents in Geo-Solar architecture, and in doing so discovered hidden treasures...

The Old Yellow House Foundation is committed to educating the community, young and young at heart. Programs include the local habitats, creeks, mammals, birds, the history of Native Americans, living sustainably, and wellness retreats.
